Sligo Triathlon Club

Welcome to Sligo Tri

We are an all-inclusive club, welcoming and supporting members of all ages and abilities.

We believe in building friendships and lasting bonds through a community of like-minded people, an aim which is fostered through events and activities including club duathlons and triathlons, annual ‘away’ Triathlons and regular social activities.

The club has an active Junior club and also runs a men’s initiative and women’s initiative.

Club Members Coaching Achievement

Club members coaching achievement

Sligo Tri Club are delighted to have four newly qualified Level 1 Coaches join our coaching team.

Having first completed the Tri Leaders Course in 2021, Cindy McCarthy, Gemma Maguire, John Hanley and Dermot Cunningham continued with their studies in order to be qualified to design and deliver training sessions for our members.

The training programme involved completing a number of weekends in face-to-face sessions, as well as online sessions via Zoom. The programme was delivered by Triathlon Ireland in conjunction with World Triathlon. It involved both online assessments and practical assessments of designing and delivering training sessions in each of the three disciplines.

The four coaches appreciated the opportunity to complete the programme and are delighted to not have any more assignments to submit!
